Cool In The Pool
Here's a couple of videos we shot on sunday 29/10/06. The weather has been great here for the last couple of weeks and Anne and the boys make it down to the pool most afternoons.
Sunday was the Brazilian election - a lot of the shops were shut, so we just had a lazy day.

On Friday night we went to Pampolinha, which is a great sea food restaurant in Porto Alegre. See below:

Martha Meets Anne
When we arrived in Brazil, Martha Wetsch - Otto's Assistant - was a fantastic help for us. She organised everything for us from the moment we got off the plane in Porto Alegre. She helped us with the appartment, the boy's school, getting furniture, organising workmen, medical and dental emergencies etc. You name it - Martha did it - she's a saint.
So when Anne arrived we asked Martha up to the appartment to meet her. It was also the first time she had seen the boys for 8 months - and of course, Toto got to make a new friend as well.
Martha very kindly brought two fish for the boys - one (Sam's) is called Mr. Blick and the other (Dan's) is called Pepper. We'll put some pictures of our two new family members in a later blog (if Toto doesn't eat them first).
After Martha had seen round the appartment - it's changed a little over the last few months - we all went out for a nice meal at The Sulina Grill. It was great - but Anne decided not to have a caipirinha this time - still suffering from the last one I think.

Sulina Grill
The Sulina Grill is our favourite restaraunt in Porto Alegre. It's a 5 minute walk from our house and we go there most weeks.
The food is great and the staff are very helpful. You can visit the Sulina Grill website here.....
Anyway, on Friday evening we went for dinner there with Anne. See the photos below:

This is Senhor Sandro. He makes great caipirinha! It contains sugar cane rum (called cachaca and made here in Brasil), lime, cane sugar and plenty of ice.
It tastes amazing!

The food in the Sulina Grill is fantastic. The service is top class and the waiters and waitresses are so friendly.
They are always smiling - they enjoy their work - and very, very helpful. They even put up with Dan and Sam.
The price of cachaca may rise soon due to the increased consumption levels!

Meanwhile - back in Rua Corcovado - Anne's missing slipper has been found. However, the perpetrator of this wicked crime has not yet been brought to justice and is still a danger to the community at large.

Unfortunately, despite the heightened security, within only a few minutes of entering "Casa Hayward" one of Anne's slippers has gone missing. Investigators are looking for leads (plus squeaky toys, bones and chews).
